Open Seat

Episode 4: Introduction to 1 John

Season 1 Episode 4

Today's Episode
Welcome to the Open Seat Podcast! On today's episode, we briefly discuss Greek verbs, nouns, and the syntax of sentences in biblical manuscripts. We also begin our study of 1 John, the first letter written by the apostle John to the Church. We discuss John's use of the past tense forms, the fellowship believers share with God, and John's motivation for writing the letter.

Our Mission
We recognize that the Bible was written in languages full of richness and beauty. Our goal is to explore the beauty of the New Testament, written in Koine Greek, that can sometimes become obscured in English translations. We desire to bridge the gap of scholarship and make these conversations about Biblical Greek accessible to all curious people. Whether you have studied Greek for years or you are embarking on this journey today, all are welcome to take a seat at the Table.
